The tree care industry has less people overall than positions available in the market. The demand for entry-level and skilled workers, lack of diversity and high turnover are among the challenges the industry is facing today. This led to a partnership between PA Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources and PA Dept. of Corrections and the creation of the Correctional Conservation Collaborative (CCC) - a vocational training in aboriculture for inmates nearing release at PA State Correctional Institutions.
